2011 Top 7 Free WordPress Plugin To Save Your Time and Money

wordpress Best 2011As bloggers, our most valuable asset is time. We can spend it on writing useful content, promoting our blogs, networking and so on.

Yet we also need to check stats, moderate comments, use social media and so on, and these tasks tend to suck a large part of our time. For example, if I want to check my earnings, I will have to go to 3 or 4 different sites. And then, if I decide to tweet, I have to go to Twitter!

It would save a lot of time if we could do those maintenance tasks from within the WordPress dashboard right?

That is why I decided to write this post with some plugins you can use to carry out these tasks without leaving WordPress. Enjoy.

1. Analytics 360 Plugin
Analytics 360 is an awesome WordPress plugin that can pull your Google Analytics and MailChimp data and display it in your WordPress dashboard.

You will need a MailChimp API key(optional) and Google Analytics account for it to work. Once installed, go to Settings → Analytics 360 and enter your API key and authenticate it with Google Analytics to start pulling data.

Once that is done, you can view stats your Analytics and MailChimp stats anytime by simple going to Dashboard → Analytics 360°.

2. My GMail
My GMail plugin simply displays your unread mails on WordPress dashboard. However, make sure to check “Always Use HTTPS” in your GMail options because it works over HTTPS only!

For more GMail productivity and time saving tips, check out this long post by me: How To Turn GMail Into Productivity Powerhouse.
3. Google Adsense Summary

Google AdSense Summary lets you check AdSense earnings for Today, Yesterday, This Month, Last Month and All Time. After installing, go to Settings page and enter your username and password. After that, you can see earnings for your account from dashboard anytime!

4. Full Comments On Dashboard

Do you reply to your comments? No!
Oh my god!
That can’t be true.
If you do not reply to comments, the sky will fall down and you will lose all your visitors!
OK, OK, nothing like that will happen, but replying to comments can help you a lot. Here are 5 Good Reasons Why You Should respond To Every Comment.
Now, WordPress dashboard has a pretty widget called “Recent Comments”. The only problem with it is that it displays comment excerpt. So, you have to go to recent posts or comments to reply. This takes another 1 or more clicks. How about replygin straight from WP dashboard?
Full Comments On Dashboard is a simple plugin that will show full comments instead of excerpt on your dashboard. This allows you to easily reply to comments. The widget can show up to 30 comments(hover mouse over it’s title bar to see a “Configure” link and set number of comments to show from there). And there’s no mumbo-jumbo associated with it, just install and forget!

5. Twitter Tools
Twitter Tools is another excellent plugin that can reduce lot of work. Using it, you can:
1. Tweet from WordPress Dashboard (See Posts → Tweet)
2. Tweet from any page on your blog where twitter tools widget is present.
3. Automatically tweet about new posts.
4. Create a “digest” of your tweets and publish on your blog.
5. Add a list of recent tweets to sidebar and filter @ replies from it!
After installing plugin, just enter your Twitter account details in Settings → Twitter Tools and optionally, bit.ly username and API key. Now, you can tweet right from your blog anytime!

Note: Do not expect a complete Twitter client though! Plugin is very simple in terms of tweeting and is best for 1 or 2 odd tweets you want to write quickly!

6. Feed Stats
Feed Stats will, as the name suggests, allows you to view FeedBurner stats.
Install it, go to Settings → Feed Stats and enter your feed URL. Click save and now, you are ready to view all you feed data easily by going to Dashboard → Feed Stats. You can view feed stats for last 10 days. Stats you can view are Subscribers, Hits and Reach.
You can find more about some interesting features of FeedBurner here: 6 Useful FeedBurner Features That Are Normally Ignored.

7. Plugin Central
Plugin Central will help you manage and upgrade your plugins easily.
When upgrades are available for any of your plugins, it will add the plugin name along with changelog and “Update” link to your WordPress Dashboard “Right Now” widget. And yes, there is “upgrade all” option too!
And at last, you can install multiple plugins by entering URL or just typing in name of plugin!
Note: I have checked all these plugins on my blog running WordPress 3.0 and they work fine. However, I’d advice to take a backup of your database before installing any plugin! And if you have any questions, feel free to ask in comments, I will be replying to all of them!

2011 Eyebrow Waxing Tips For Winter – Beauty Tips

Eyebrow Waxing TipsUnless you have very sensitive skin, waxing is a quick and relatively easy alternative to plucking your eyebrows. Although it is generally best to get eyebrows waxed professionally it can be expensive – up to around $15 as a general rule, although salons do differ. If you have a tighter budget, or if you are feeling fairly brave, here are some simple steps for you to try at home…
1) Preparing the Eyebrow

Brush the eyebrow into place with a baby toothbrush or clean mascara wand, so that their natural shape is neatly defined. Next, apply an astringent such as witch hazel to anesthetize the sensitive skin under the brow. Work out your natural brow shape by standing several feet away from a mirror, and following these simple steps.

Working out the length of the eyebrow

Hold a ruler parallel to your nose, and level with the inner corner of the eye, to work out where the brow should begin. If your eyes are close together, make the gap between the brows wider. If your eyes are far apart, dont wax the start line of the brow too much so that they are closer together. Mark the correct point with a dot.

Top 4 Eyebrow Waxing tipsWorking out the curve of the eyebrow

You can work out where the highest point of the curve/ arch should be by holding a ruler from the edge of the nostril past the outer edge of the iris (the colored part of the eye) and up to the eyebrow. Mark the spot with a dot.

Final planning

Now link up the dots in a gentle arch to draw on the ideal shape of the eyebrow that you want to achieve. This will give you a guideline to go by when applying the wax. You should aim for a smooth arched brow that tapers slightly at the outer ends.

2) Applying the Wax

Buy a professional waxing kit – basically a jar or tub of wax which can be warmed up in boiling water and applied with a small applicator or spatula, and (usually muslin) removal strips. Each product varies slightly, so be sure to read the manufacturers directions carefully.

Warm up the wax to optimum temperature and use the small spatula to apply a thin layer of wax to the growth. Make sure that you only use a small amount of wax on the spatula to avoid the wax dripping when it is applied. Apply wax with the hair growth under the eyebrow, (i.e. in the same direction that the hair grows in). You don’t need to use much, and you should not let the wax dry.

3) Removing the Hair

This is the painful bit! Ouch!!

Never wax above the eyebrow, only ever shape from below. Waxing from under the brow will widen your eyes and help to get the line even. This will make you look younger and much more glamorous if done correctly! As soon as it is applied remove the wax against the hair growth, (i.e. in the opposite direction that the hair grows in). This is done by gently smoothing a piece of cotton muslin over the waxed area, pulling the skin taut with one hand, and pulling the muslin off with the other.

It is a good idea to take a little hair off at a time, especially if you have fairly this growth. You will be surprised how much difference a little hair removal will make to your appearance.

4) The Aftermath

Any straggly hairs left over after waxing can be easily plucked out using a set of good tweezers. Apply a soothing balm like tea tree oil onto the area afterward. You should avoid direct sunlight, acid based facial treatments, and liquid makeup for several hours.

To give the gorgeous new eyebrow shape emphasis, use an eyebrow pencil or tinted brow shadow to subtly fill in any gaps, and even out the natural color tone. Don’t worry if you make mistakes, even if you have bald patches or empty spaces. Practice makes perfect, and anyway, the hair will have grown back before you know it!!

World Top 10 Rarest Animal Or Insect – Amazing

Many of us doesn’t even know these animals. They are very endangered and they are right now facing extinction if humans will not take care of our filthy environment as well as the endless hunting of these animals in the wild

1. The Pinta Island tortoise

Without argument, this turtle is one of the few species of Giant Galapagos tortoises and the rarest animal in the world since there is only one left alive. Lonesome George is the sole surviving member of the Pinta Island race, the giant tortoise being a symbol for the fragility of the Galapagos islands, and a constant reminder for vigilence and conservation of the species. The species was considered extinct until 1971, when a lone example was located by rangers. Since then, the Charles Darwin Research Station has been searching for a female tortoise, even posting a reward of $10,000 to those that find one.

2. Baiji (Yangtze River Dolphin)

With no more than a few tens of individuals, dolphin is one of the world’s rarest mammals, and a victim of China’s breakneck economic growth, competing for food with the human beings. It has been driven to extinction due to the activity in 50 years, this being the fourth time when an entire evolutionary line of mammals has vanished from the face of the Earth since the year 1500. The main reason for this fact are the numerous dams and barrages, built starting in the 1930’s, that have fragmented the population and reduced the amount of available habitat. There are news that the species is functionally extinct, experts still searching for members of the species. Fingers crossed!

3. The Vancouver Island Marmot

This marmot is found only in the high mountainous regions of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, the Canadian Species at Risk Act listing it as endangered in May 2000. In 1998, the population reached an all-time low of 75 individuals, a captive breeding programme being started during that time. In captivity, there are around 90 Vancouver Island marmots in four breeding facilities, while an estimated 30 members of this species live in the wild ibn 2004. The ultimate goal is to restore a sustainable population of 400-600 Vancouver Island marmots in the wild, so there’s still much to be done. 2005 was a successful year, with 150 individuals in captivity and over 44 pups born.

4. Seychelles Sheath-tailed Bat

Inhabiting the central granitic islands of the Seychelles Islands north of Madagascar, the bat is part of our list, being one of the most endangered animals since fewer than 100 are believed to exist in the world. It was once commonly found in Seychelles, but the species has undergone a dramatic decline in population during the mid to late 20th century. More research needs to be done in order to understand how the species behave and what needs to be done in order to save them. Scientists believe that, with a heavy amount of effort, 500 individuals may be sufficient to guarantee long-term persistence of the population.

5. Javan Rhino

This scarce animal is one of the rhino species with fewer than 60 animals surviving in only two known locations: one in Indonesia and the other in Vietnam. Though once widespread throughout Asia, by the 1930’s the rhinoceros was nearly hunted to extinction in Peninsular Malaysia, India, Burma and Sumatra. It was poached for its horn, that is believed to have medicinal uses, and driven to extinction to the intense agricultural practices. Even with all the conservation efforts, the Javan rhinoceros’ chance of survival is small: the population is reduced, hence there are risks of disease and inbreeding.

6. Hispid hare

Also called the “bristly rabbit”, this hare has been recorded along the southern foothills of the Himalayan mountain chain, Nepal, , Bengal, and Assam. Deforestation, cultivation, and human settlement had the most negative impact on the species, isolating the rabbits in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam. This animal was feared extinct in 1964, but in 1966, one was spotted. There were an estimated 110 hispid hares worldwide in 2001, numbers continuing to plunge due its unsuccessful adaptation to captivity.

7. Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat

In the 19th century this species of wombat was present in New South Wales and Victoria but now can only be found in a small national park near Epping Forest Station in tropical Queensland. While this area has been protected as a National Park, the native grasses that the wombat eats are overtaken by non-indigenous plants. The Northern hairy-nosed wombat is the rarest Australian marsupial, and probably the world’s rarest large mammal. In the latest population study, there are an estimated 113 (range 96 to 150) individual. A major recovery program is underway, funded by the Queensland and Commonwealth governments to the tune of $250,000 per year.

8. Tamaraw (Dwarf Water Buffalo)

Found in the the island of Mindoro in the Philippines, the tamaraw is the onlyDwarf Water Buffalo endemic Phillipine bovine. In 1900 there were an estimated 10,000 tamaraw on Mindoro, 120 in 1975, 370 in 1987 . It was declared critically endangered species in 2000 by the World Conservation Union and remained so until today, being threatened by agriculture, hunting or disease brought by domestic species. The current population was estimated in 2002 at a number between 30 and 200 individuals. Although protected by law, the illegal capture and killing of this species continues to occur.

9. Iberian Lynx

The Lynx, the most endangered of the world’s 36 cats, stands on the edge of extinction. This lynx was once distributed over the entire Iberian Peninsula but now its area is severely restricted in Andalusia. Threatened by destruction of habitat and of its prey, the cat was killed by traps set for rabbits or hit by cars as the number of roads increase. The Spanish Government is now in the process of developing a national conservation effort to save the Iberian Lynx. Studies from March 2005 have estimated the number of Lynx to be as few as 100, down from about 400 in 2000. On March 29, 2005, the birth of 3 cubs, the first born in captivity, was announced, a hope for the future reintroduction of the species.

10. Red Wolf

This wolf is a smaller and a more slender cousin of the gray wolf, historically ranging from southeastern United States to Florida and Texas. Now, their home is the 1.7 million acres throughout northeastern North Carolina, including Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge and Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Only 20 pure red wolves were estimated in 1980, however the number increased to 207 captive red wolves, found in 38 captive breeding facilities across the United States. With the successful breeding programs, over 100 red wolves currently live in the wild.
